Dawn charges one trading fee. Everything else on this page is either a cost Dawn absorbs for you or a cost the network and the market charge directly.

Trading fee

1% of the trade, with a $0.35 minimum

Gas

Covered by Dawn up to $5 per trade

Minimum trade

$1, and more on some bridged routes

The trading fee

Every buy and every sell pays 1% of the trade’s USDC value, never less than $0.35.

You get part of it back

Cashback returns a share of this fee to you, starting at 25% and rising to 55% with your 30-day volume. At the entry tier a 1% fee is effectively 0.75%; at the top it is 0.45%.

Gas

Every transaction costs the network a fee. Dawn pays it for you, up to $5 of gas per trade, which covers essentially every trade on every chain Dawn supports. You never need to hold SOL, BNB or ETH to trade.

When gas goes over $5

On a congested chain a single transaction can cost more than the cap. What happens then depends on your Gas Surplus setting: The limit can be up to $50 per trade. Take-profit and stop-loss sells follow the same limit, which is worth knowing: a stop that needs more gas than you allow will not fire. See Gas Surplus.

Minimum trade size

The floor is $1. On routes that have to move value between chains, the minimum is higher. A trade below it is refused rather than sent.

Trading on another chain

Your balance is USDC on Solana. Buying a coin on BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain, Base or Arc means moving value across, and that routing has a cost of its own. It is not a Dawn fee, and Dawn does not absorb it. It is part of what the trade costs you, and it is inside the quote before you buy — the figures you approve already account for it. Two things follow from that:
  • Small cross-chain trades are proportionally worse. The cost weighs far more on a $5 trade than on a $500 one.
  • The minimum trade is higher on those routes. A trade below it is refused rather than sent.
A Solana coin bought from your Solana balance has no such cost.

Withdrawals

See Withdraw and send.

Costs Dawn does not charge

These move the price you actually get, and none of them is a Dawn fee.
Reaching a coin on another chain carries a bridging cost, charged by the route rather than by Dawn — see Trading on another chain.
Every swap pays the liquidity pool it goes through — typically 0.01%–1% — and every trade of size moves the price against itself. Both are inside the amount you receive, and both go to the market, not to Dawn.Thin liquidity makes this much larger than the trading fee. The panel shows a coin’s liquidity for exactly this reason.
Some contracts charge their own tax on every buy or sell, sometimes 10% or more, sometimes only on selling. That is written into the token, not into Dawn, and it is deducted before you see the coins. It shows up in how much of the coin you receive, not as a separate charge.

Failed trades

A trade that cannot fill inside your slippage is refunded — your USDC goes back to your balance and no trading fee is charged. A trade that fails before it is sent leaves your balance untouched. Gas that was already spent on a submitted transaction is not recoverable, but Dawn is the one that spent it.
