Both live in the wallet manager, a mini app that opens from inside Telegram. Send /wallets and use the two buttons at the bottom of the screen:
A private key is complete control of a wallet. Type one only into the import form inside the official Dawn app. Never send a key to support, to a group, to another person, or into any chat — including this one.

Import a wallet

Open the importer

/wallets → 🗝 Import.

Choose where it lands

Pick the profile that should hold it, and give it a label if you want one. Leave the label blank and Dawn names it Wallet n like any other.The profile needs a free slot — each one holds 5 wallets.

Give the key, or both keys

A Dawn wallet is an EVM address and a Solana address together. You can import:
  • a Solana key on its own,
  • an EVM key on its own,
  • or both, paired into one wallet.
Import one side only and Dawn creates a fresh address for the other, so the pair is complete.

Confirm

The imported wallet becomes the one in use in that profile, and a confirmation card lands in your chat with both addresses.

Why importing happens in the app

Your key is encrypted on your own device before it is sent anywhere, and Dawn never sees it in readable form. That is also why it is not done in the chat. A key typed as a Telegram message would sit in a chat log as plain text, for as long as that chat exists.

Open the wallet manager

/wallets → 🔑 Export.

Pick the wallet

Check the label and the address before you go on. If the wallet is in another profile, switch profile in Telegram and reopen the app.

Reveal and store it

The key is shown by Privy in its own secure window. Save it somewhere only you can reach — a password manager, not a screenshot and not a chat.
Exporting changes nothing about the wallet. It keeps trading in Dawn exactly as before; you simply also hold the key yourself.
Dawn wallets use individual private keys, not one shared seed phrase. Exporting one wallet reveals that wallet and no other.

If the app opens on the wrong account

The mini app takes its identity from Telegram. If it shows wallets you do not recognise, you have it open from a different Telegram account — close it and reopen from the account you use with Dawn. If a wallet is missing, check which profile you are in first.
