Two-factor authentication (2FA) puts a second check on the two actions that matter most: sending money out and exporting a private key. Once it is on, neither happens without your code or your passkey.
It takes a minute to set up. Trading is never asked for it, so it changes nothing about the way you buy and sell.
What it protects
Together with approving every send yourself, this means money leaves your wallet only when you say so.
Set it up
Open the security screen
Send /wallets and tap 🔐 2FA.
Tap Set up
Privy, which secures your wallets, walks you through it in its own window. Check the wallets screen
/wallets now shows 🔐 2FA: On with the method beside it.
Use an authenticator app. It works entirely inside Telegram, so approving a send never has to leave the chat.
Using it
When you approve a send or export a key, Privy asks for the code or the passkey first, then carries on. Nothing else changes.
To add another method or remove one, open 🔐 2FA again and tap Manage.
Keep access to your second factor. Set up the backup your authenticator app or phone number offers now, not after a phone is lost.
On Telegram Web
On Telegram Web the 2FA screen opens in a browser tab of its own. Approving a send needs the Telegram app on a phone or desktop.
